Good morning…

“I used to think that God’s gifts were on shelves one above the other and that the taller we grew in Christian character, the more easily we should reach them,” a friend from our peer supervision group read to us over the phone an F.B. Meyer quote. “I find now that God’s gifts are on shelves one beneath the other and that it is not a question of growing taller, but of stooping lower and that we have to go down, always down to get His best ones.”

At that time Jesus said, “I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth [I openly and joyfully acknowledge Your great wisdom], that You have hidden these things [these spiritual truths] from the wise and intelligent and revealed them to infants [to new believers, to those seeking God’s will and purpose]. Yes, Father, for this way was well-pleasing in Your sight (Matthew 11:25-26, AMP).

My prayer is that we each seek God’s will and purpose, day after day, stooping lower and lower to receive God’s best gifts.
