Good morning…
My most recent daily blog post was sent out four days ago. Then I hit a computer snag and sent you an email entitled: “Technical Difficulties – Will Return When Fixed.” Over the years, I have grown to believe that computer snags and technical difficulties often occur when God is fighting to get our attention. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this [present] darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) places (Ephesians 6:12, AMP).
We are invited to trust God when we experience life’s glitches, since …we walk by faith, not by sight [living our lives in a manner consistent with our confident belief in God’s promises] (2 Corinthians 5:7, AMP).
In my daily life, I am learning to notice various tangible signs of the intangible spiritual battle raging within and around us. When a computer snag or a technical difficulty roadblocks my way forward, normal functioning is halted, status quo is disturbed, and my faith meter turns to high alert: “God, what are You up to?” When my tears are tugged to well up and flow, when my vision blurs into a light filled aura, when an electrical current sends tingling peace through my whole praying body, I sense the Spirit whispering: ‘I am with you, life-givingly at work. Notice what is happening in this very moment.” When coincidences occur, timing lines up in an uncanny way, my soul resonates with another soul, in sync, in surround sound, God’s volume turns up and my whole being wonders: “God, what is Your healing power redeeming right now?”
God’s enemy loves to wreak havoc in our daily lives. Disrupting. Disconnecting. Disintegrating. Orchestrating computer snags. Toying with technical difficulties. Inducing waves of pain. Painting deep darkness. Throwing up roadblock after roadblock as we walk in un-sighted faith. When Satan’s tactics move from the invisible realm to our visible world, we just call out with confidence: “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives” (Genesis 50:20, NIV).
God will eventually win the spiritual battle, erasing separation, unifying everything. Until that day, we walk by faith through the minefield Satan sets up for us daily, taking the ten tangible steps set out in Ephesians 6:14-17 (CEV).
- Be ready!
- Let the truth be like a belt around your waist.
- Let God’s justice protect you like armor.
- Your desire to tell the good news about peace should be like shoes on your feet.
- Let your faith be like a shield, and you will be able to stop all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
- Let God’s saving power be like a helmet.
- For a sword use God’s message that comes from the Spirit.
- Never stop praying, especially for others.
- Always pray by the power of the Spirit.
- Stay alert and keep praying for God’s people.
