Good morning…

Our friends plan fun, memorable birthday parties, so we were excited to be invited to their home to be taught by a sushi chef. Making our own sushi for dinner was a fascinating way to celebrate a fifty-something birthday season. Our handmade creations were imperfectly delicious. Roll by roll, bite by bite, laughter was sparked and our hunger was filled.

This is the one word of wisdom the sushi chef repeated most often throughout the night, “Let your sexy, expensive sushi knife do the work.” When we held our blade securely, we did little and the sharp knife did it all.

Isn’t that just like our personal relationship with God? If we hold onto our God securely, we do little and the LORD does it all.

There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this great work in you would keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears (Philippians 1:6, MSG).
