Good morning…

The How Stuff Works website provides a creative answer to my brain’s quirky question: “How does a tuning fork work?”

The website explains, “The choir comes to a hush as the choirmaster steps into the room. ‘All right, let’s tune,’ she declares to the assembled singers. Producing a two-pronged metal tool from her pocket, she strikes it against her knee. After a shrill whine, it begins to emanate a mysterious, angelic hum. Resting the base of the device against a wooden desk, the hum becomes louder. Listening intently to the small, singing piece of metal, the singers adjust their voices accordingly.”

Scripture joins the chorus. Tune your ears to the world of Wisdom; set your heart on a life of Understanding (Proverbs 2:2, MSG).

“For the Lord grants wisdom!” promises Proverbs 2:6-8 (NLT). “From his mouth come knowledge and understanding. He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest. He is a shield to those who walk with integrity. He guards the paths of the just and protects those who are faithful to him.”

In the CEV translation, truth reverberates in verses 9, 10, and 11, “With wisdom you will learn what is right and honest and fair. Wisdom will control your mind, and you will be pleased with knowledge. Sound judgment and good sense will watch over you.”

Pulling from our pocket the Word of God as our tuning fork, are we willing to listen intently and adjust our voice accordingly?
