Good morning…
How fun it is for my fingertips to listen for the LORD’s movement in the early morning hours. As hurricane Hermine exposes the vulnerability of Florida’s Gulf Coast, God’s winds now blow us back to the start of it all.
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light (Genesis 1:1-3, NIV).
Beneath life’s choppy surface is deep, deep dark and, above our naked state, God’s Spirit hovers. “Let there be light,” illuminates our prayer.
“Form me.”
“Fill me.
“Filter through me Your light.”
The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it (John 1:5, NIV).
