Good morning…

He said to me, “If I really want to talk with and listen to God, I have to get away with Him privately, for a big chunk of time.” He likened it to my husband and me, “If you really want to talk with and listen to Steve, you would not do it in a crowded room full of people, surrounded by distractions. You would get away with him privately, for a big chunk of time, until you felt you had talked everything out.”

He continued, “There was a time when God felt so silent, like He wasn’t saying anything to me. So, I got away with Him privately and said with my whole heart, ‘I miss Your voice. Why have You stopped talking to me?’ Clear as day, I heard Him say, ‘Why have you stopped asking Me questions? If you want to hear My voice, ask Me a question.’ So, I did. I asked Him a question and I waited for His response. Sure enough, as I sat patiently, I was flooded with an answer. Now I know, if I want to hear God’s voice, I need to get away with Him privately, ask Him a direct question, and wait patiently until I am flooded with an answer.”

Listen, Lord, as I pray!
You are faithful and honest
and will answer my prayer (Psalm 143:1, CEV).
