Good morning…

God makes all kinds of people. There were several varieties at my son’s middle school wrestling match in McDonough, Georgia yesterday. There were long haired and no haired and facial haired of all kinds. There were adorable three year old girls climbing the bleachers, the laps of loved ones, and the proverbial walls over time. There were old people and young people, with every age in between. There was talk of monster trucks and motor bikes, raising kids and enjoying the first year of a baby’s life. There were body types of all kinds, tattoo and clothing styles galore, and families of different sorts all cheering loved ones on. Skin tones were red, yellow, black, and white, and all of us filling the gym were precious in God’s sight.

What about my sight?

Consciously, I enjoyed a day of wearing God’s glasses, seeing different people with our Creator’s adoring eyes. After that joyful experience, I am signing up for the LORD to perform a lasik eye surgery of sort, adjusting my imperfect pupils to His 20/20 vision, so that I might see each person each day as a cherished child of God.

My friends, if you have faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ, you won’t treat some people better than others. Suppose a rich person wearing fancy clothes and a gold ring comes to one of your meetings. And suppose a poor person dressed in worn-out clothes also comes. You must not give the best seat to the one in fancy clothes and tell the one who is poor to stand at the side or sit on the floor. That is the same as saying that some people are better than others, and you would be acting like a crooked judge, James 2:1-4 (CEV),
