Good morning…

In her dream, she is in a large boat snaking through a treacherous river (to get a visual, think about the Colorado River winding through the bowels of the Grand Canyon). There are no other people on the boat, no driver, no companions, yet this huge boat is inching through, seemingly too big for these rarely traveled waters. Into her focus comes the wooden bench at the center of the boat. Intuitively, she knows that sitting squarely on this small seat is her next earthly assignment. Her only task in life as she heads into a new phase is to remain centered on this tiny bench, trusting God to navigate this spacious boat into narrow nooks and crannies of need.

So after the delightful lunch we shared yesterday, this morning I texted her these soulful words: “I love your dream of sitting calmly on the wooden seat in God’s big boat while the LORD navigates nooks and crannies in His landscape where only few are privileged to travel. You have been chosen for this deep level of surrender because God trusts that you will not rock His boat. You will not try to stand up and steer. You will just sit, centered in solitude, and allow God through you to take His saving message into remote places. I love that my deep daily prayer for you will be, “LORD, please give her the inner strength to obediently keep her buns centered on the wooden seat You have chosen for her!”

My prayer for all of us is exactly the same: “LORD, give us the inner strength to obediently keep our buns centered on the wooden seat you have chosen for us!”

Pay attention! Watch this wonder that God is going to perform before you now! 1 Samuel 12:16 (MSG),
