Good morning…
“When you go before the LORD, let your words be few,” my heart said first thing this morning. I knew it was a paraphrase of a Bible verse, so after my quiet journaling time, I got on my computer and went to Bible Gateway to hear Ecclesiastes 5:2 say in the Amplified translation, “Do not be hasty with your mouth [speaking careless words or vows] or impulsive in thought to bring up a matter before God. For God is in heaven and you are on earth; therefore let your words be few.”
As I prepare to go on a three night retreat with the LORD in Grayton Beach, Florida, I sense my first instruction: “Let your words be few.” With God already taking over the agenda, I write myself a note.
- I will leave space for God to speak.
- I will let go of my agenda.
- I will lean back and watch for God.
- I will listen in to our deep conversation.
- My soul will see: Look! God.
As this year ends before next year begins, please join me as we:
- Leave space.
- Let go.
- Lean back.
- Listen in.
- Look! God.
Leave. Let. Lean. Listen. Look!
