Good morning…
I happen upon an old quote from one of my favorite books.
“Experiment with different forms of still and quiet,” encourages well-loved author and speaker Brene Brown. “We all need to find something that works or us. To be honest, I’m never more open and emotionally clutter-free than when I’m walking alone outside. It’s not technically still, but it is emotionally opening for me.” (The Gifts Of Imperfection, 110)
If we define being still as “letting go, releasing all” into the kind care of our loving LORD, then walking alone outside can be a beautiful form of stillness, an opportunity to return to oneness with God, “open and emotionally clutter-free.”
As you experiment with different forms of letting go, what forms of stillness work best for you in this season of your life?
Having “released all” into the care of our Creator, You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands (Isaiah 55:12, NIV).
