Good morning…

Build us up from inside out. Fortify our interior structure. Together teach us to embody the Prayer of St. Francis, who was born in 1182.

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace
Where there is hatred, let me sow love
Where there is injury, pardon
Where there is doubt, faith
Where there is despair, hope
Where there is darkness, light
And where there is sadness, joy
O Divine Master, grant that I may
Not so much seek to be consoled as to console
To be understood, as to understand
To be loved, as to love
For it is in giving that we receive
And it’s in pardoning that we are pardoned
And it’s in dying that we are born to Eternal Life
Amen

Hatred and injury tear us down. Doubt, despair, and darkness expose our innermost strife. Sadness strips us bare, revealing our need to console, to understanding, to harness the power of God’s healing love. As we give, we receive. Processing our ability to pardon others, we pardon our own imperfect parts. As daily we seek to sow love and faith, hope and joy, real reconciliation grows. Eternal light dawns through us as we die to our old self-centered ways to be reborn with Christ together.

Build us up from inside out. Fortify our interior structure. Together teach us to embody the Prayer of St. Francis, who was born in 1182.

But you, dear friends, carefully build yourselves up in this most holy faith by praying in the Holy Spirit, staying right at the center of God’s love, keeping your arms open and outstretched, ready for the mercy of our Master, Jesus Christ. This is the unending life, the real life! (Jude 1:20-21, MSG).
