Good morning…
I was prayerfully hemming and hawing about a fairly insignificant decision. Though it was a small potato in the grand stew of life, still I wanted to choose wisely. I waited and waited until the surge of God’s Spirit rose up to lead me to a pretty clear “Yes”. It was a clear enough “Yes” for me to move forward with timid confidence.
After I made my decision, I drove home and parked our car in the driveway. That’s when I noticed a huge, massive butterfly swoop down in front of me to land in the flowerbed outside our front door.
I stood watching in amazement, thrilled amazement. Quietly I pulled out the camera of my phone. For over ten minutes, the butterfly and I enjoyed a fun, playful photo shoot.
Somehow, wordlessly, my spirit felt the confirmation of the Holy Spirit. As I watched the spirit of this beautiful creature conversing with my spirit, my confidence grew. The nod from God fully settled my strength in our good choice.
In the middle of the night just now, I scrolled through the plethora of pictures, deleting the masses and choosing my very favorite.
Before discerning our decision yesterday I had snapped a picture of a card I adored. With blossoming awareness, I am sensing God’s magic more and more every day.
There is a smidge of magic in everything, everywhere, all the time. Are we training our eyes to see the seemly insignificant, great gifts from God?
Humble yourselves [feeling very insignificant] in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you [He will lift you up and make your lives significant] (James 4:10, AMPC).
