Good morning…
“This photo popped up this morning,” wrote Jennifer DeShetler yesterday. “This is what I was thinking of when I shared the cake kits for needy families. Audrey made her brother’s birthday cake every year. This photo was taken when she was 8 years old (12 years ago).”
“Wow!” I replied. “What a picture of loving kindness. This goes right along with the birthday cake boxes we are sharing with those who receive food through Food Security of America at Northside Church every other Tuesday. I went last week to help bag up the donated meats and vegetables, and I will make this commitment a regular part of my Tuesdays from here on out.”

“Cake kits continue to appear on my doorstep,” I explained. “God has been so generous, creative, expansive! The first 30 cake kits we delivered with Easter lilies and homemade cards to senior citizens in Grove Park. The next 25 went through Food Security of America at Northside Church to low income families in Marietta. Two cake kits were shared with a family that just moved into a new place. One went to Mike-Mike’s family who is grieving the loss of his mom, given with a $50 Kroger gift card and breakfast items for Easter morning. Now I have five more donated birthday cake boxes to share, as Food Security of America serves families in Smyrna at the end of the month.”
“God is so good at spreading JOY!!!” I told Jennifer. “Thanks for being a part of the adventure. I can’t wait to see you at lunch on Thursday.”
Brothers and sisters, we cannot help but thank God for you, which is only appropriate because your faith is growing and expanding and because the love demonstrated by each and every one of you is overflowing for one another (2 Thessalonians 1:3, VOICE).
