Good morning…
For the first time ever, on this special Father’s Day, my 89 year old dad is a father, my 63 year old husband is a father, and our 31 year old son is a father. What a rich blessing!
This month I have spent quality time with each of these very important men in my life.
The last weekend in May, I visited my parents in Ohio as they performed The Sound of Music with about fifty of their friends from their senior living community. My siblings and their kids also came in town to join the fun. My dad played the role of incorrigible Curt, who is 11 (almost).

My husband Steve is guiding a group through the countryside of Spain this week, walking the gorgeous Camino De Santiago (the way of Saint James). Developing a trip program for adults in our community (Lovett Expeditions) is part of Steve’s new role of Chaplain Emeritus at the Lovett School.

The greatest thing about our grandson Charlie being born is seeing our son Kyler be such a loving, attentive husband and father. He and his wife Chandler are incredible parents.

These three fathers have shaped my life in profound ways over the years. On this special Father’s Day, I will not be with any of them face to face, but I am deeply connected with them all through the Spirit of our living God.
As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on his faithful followers (Psalm 103:13, NET).
Now think. Who are the men who have shaped your own life so profoundly? On this special day, will you be with them face to face or connecting with them through the Spirit of our living God?
Happy Father’s Day to all!
