Good morning…
Last night we experienced a feast of friendship as over twenty women in our Atlanta community gathered together, deepening down into the healthy root system connecting Bankhead and Buckhead. Women, older and younger. Skin, darker and lighter. People, barely surviving and ultimately thriving. Enjoying fun foods and delicious drinks, we shared stories of great struggle and stories of great success. Each honest story revealed God’s powerful Spirit working in us, among us, and through us right now.
What are the two words summing up last evening for me? Authentic. Relationship.
LaTonya Gates, the founder and director of PAWkids, is a compassionate catalyst for many of God’s miracles. Wearing a big, contagious smile, LaTonya said, “What each one of us needs is authentic relationship.”
Anything lasting and life-giving the LORD is growing in our community is being born in authentic relationship.
Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies (Philippians 4:8-9, MSG).
As the LORD makes everything work together in excellent harmony, what authentic relationships is God inviting you into today?
