Good morning…
Listen to this story of God showing up in a nearby neighborhood. A friend in our “sue2you” community wrote me the following email recently.
“Hi Sue, I wanted to share a ‘God’s moment’ with you. On Tuesday, my cousin’s close friend posted on Facebook that she was asking for prayers because she was going through a very difficult time. I won’t go into the details, but all have been very concerned about her for many months. She called my cousin yesterday and said that her doctor told her it was critical that she move out of the depressing apartment she had moved into while going through a messy divorce. My cousin “randomly” texted me (and only me, of all her many friends) late yesterday asking if I knew anyone who had a basement or garage apartment. I walked to a neighbor’s house that I pass by daily with my dog, and she was on her front porch “by chance.” I asked if she would considered renting her garage apartment again. The neighbor said she had not been able to rent it for some specific reasons that were now settled, and “coincidentally” she had just decided last week to start to look for a renter. My cousin’s friend met with the neighbor today and both are thrilled with each other and a move-in date was agreed on. I was walking by (again with my dog) as the friend was leaving that meeting and she was beaming and was so happy and relieved and said it was the first good thing that had happened in a long time and was miraculous. I said it absolutely was a miracle and surely God’s hand. I’ve had goose bumps ever since that happened an hour ago.”
I wrote back: “Wow. What an amazing, real life story of God at work, inspiring, connecting, weaving. It took your open heart and your obedience to God’s nudge, your cousin’s open heart and her obedience to God’s nudge, her friend’s open heart and her obedience to God’s nudge, your neighbor’s open heart and her obedience to God’s nudge, plus God’s perfect timing to bring about this life-giving blessing. When we talk about serving God with our whole lives, it does not mean that we are all called to pack our bags and rush off to minister in Africa. Serving God with our whole lives simply means being open and obedient to God nudges in our everyday lives, right here, right now, right where we live.”
Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory… Ephesians 3:20-21a (AMP),
