Good morning…
“Your life was like a river running home,” sings the most moving line from Slater Nalley’s original song, “Traces of You.” This dynamic expression of endless love reminds me of the poem I just sent to my friend, a dear friend who buried her 23 year old son last month.
“Good morning,” I texted. “I think of you as I read this poem from a beautiful book entitled The Cure for Sorrow by Jan Richardson. How is your heart feeling today, my friend?”

“Oh Sue!” my friend replied. “This poem is so beautiful and captures the essence of us continuing Josh’s legacy. I miss him so much. My heart is overcome with sadness, but I know I have a lot of work to do in honoring Josh. I am so blessed to have you in my life.”
Every life that offers love fills us with eternal drops of the river running home.
Before the dust returns to the earth that gave it and the spirit-breath returns to God who breathed it, let us remember our Creator (Ecclesiastes 12:7, VOICE).
…Sue…
