Good morning…

I touched “Read more” to experience the first blog posted on my brand new site. It took me straight to a blank page bearing these words: “Oops, This Page Could Not Be Found.” My soul smiled and shook her head, “Nothing new is easy.”

“Only God could say what this new spirit gradually forming within you will be,” says Pierre Teilhard de Chardin. “Give Our Lord the benefit of believing that his hand is leading you, and accept the anxiety of feeling yourself in suspense and incomplete.”

Experiencing myself as in suspense and incomplete, three words intrigue me. “Accept the anxiety.”

Acceptance and anxiety feel like oil and water to me. In doing anything hard and overwhelming, like creating a new website, entering a new life phase, or craving a new vision to rebuild a tattered life, anxiety is to be expected. But how is it to be accepted?

Pierre is right. Only God can say what the Holy Spirit is doing in me, in you, in this messy, hurting world. Acceptance calms anxiety as we give our LORD the benefit of believing His hand is leading us.

“Now then, stand still and see this great thing the Lord is about to do before your eyes!” (1 Samuel 12:16, NIV).
