wedding

Good morning…

This Mother’s Day weekend, I realize that in 112 days I will be a mother-in-law. I am excited to let down my hair and be openly receptive to all the intimate ways I will be touched by our new daughter, Chandler. Chandler works for Earl Grey Floral in Austin, Texas and has been asked by her boss, Amy, to franchise the business to Athens, Georgia where she and our oldest son, Kyler, will move after they are married on September 3rd.

Chandler and Amy came for breakfast with our family last Sunday after doing flowers for a large wedding in Aiken, South Carolina. They brought me a big, beautiful arrangement from the event and gave me tons of leftover roses. I have loved sharing these blooming beauties in different directions throughout this Mother’s Day week.

This has been just one week of creative collaboration initiated by the generosity of Chandler. I look forward to a whole lifetime together, sharing freely the abundant love of God.

“This is what I saw as I was stretched out on my bed. I saw a big towering tree at the center of the world. As I watched, the tree grew huge and strong. Its top reached the sky and it could be seen from the four corners of the earth. Its leaves were beautiful, its fruit abundant—enough food for everyone! Wild animals found shelter under it, birds nested in its branches, everything living was fed and sheltered by it” (Daniel 4:10-12, MSG).

Lord, may your expansive dream come true across the globe as mothers and mothers-in-laws, grandmothers and great grandmothers celebrate this special Mother’s Day empowered by your organically growing love.
