Good morning…
A deep truth dawns. I must sense God’s Spirit in the silence to notice God’s guiding presence amid life’s noise.
Before leaving this wild, wild world to return to the full presence of our Father, Jesus promised us a gift, the gift of the Holy Spirit. He said, “I still have many things to tell you, but you can’t handle them now. But when the Friend comes, the Spirit of the Truth, he will take you by the hand and guide you into all the truth there is” (John 16:12, MSG).
In the silence of each morning, I sense my best Friend come, take me by the hand, and guide me into the noisy needs of this weeping world. How great are God’s riches! How deep are his wisdom and knowledge! Who can explain his decisions? Who can understand his ways? (Romans 11:33, GNT). For who knows the inner workings of a person except the person’s own spirit inside him? So too no one knows the inner workings of God except God’s Spirit (1 Corinthians 2:11, CJB). Because none of us can handle every ounce of God’s great riches all at once and none of us know the inner workings of God without the inspiration of God’s Spirit, I pray that each morning I gather Spirit-given morsels, more and more, day by day.
I also pray for each of one of you. I ask the glorious Father and God of our Lord Jesus Christ to give you his Spirit. The Spirit will make you wise and let you understand what it means to know God. My prayer is that light will flood your hearts and that you will understand the hope that was given to you when God chose you. Then you will discover the glorious blessings that will be yours together with all of God’s people (Ephesians 1:17-18, CEV).
A deeper truth dawns. Together as God’s people we must sense God’s Spirit in the silence to notice God’s guiding presence amid life’s nonstop noise.

P.S. I went back to sleep after writing this post and I checked out the verse of the day from Biblegateway.com. I was surprised by the relevance. It is as if God’s Spirit had one more thing to say to us today: …the wisdom that comes from above leads us to be pure, friendly, gentle, sensible, kind, helpful, genuine, and sincere. When peacemakers plant seeds of peace, they will harvest justice (James 3:17-18, CEV). May it be so with us, dear friends.
