anxiety

Good morning…

She snipped and sent these powerful words. I have never thought about this enduring truth: The antidote for anxiety is remembering.

Teach me to remember,

Father,

make my mind a storehouse

for past promises kept,

love lavished

and hope fulfilled

– so that I can be a prophet

to my own present,

a watchman on the walls

of my own still night.

When I feel my anxiety rising, might I stop and drop down into my inner storehouse? My storehouse of remembrance is filled with past promises kept, love lavished, and hope fulfilled.

Jesus took some bread in his hands and gave thanks for it. He broke the bread and handed it to his apostles. Then he said, “This is my body, which is given for you. Eat this as a way of remembering me!” (Luke 22:19, CEV).

Living, loving Lord, what bitesized pieces do I need to digest as a way of remembering you right now?
