Audrey

Good morning…

“Sue, I love that Marilyn picked ‘when we all get to heaven,’ for the final song at her funeral,” Jennifer DeShetler texted yesterday. “That is what we picked for Audrey’s service as well. Although Audrey’s is more to the tune of Alan Jackson. I love his Hymns collection and played it often. My kids memorized the country tune hymns. I thought it’s no coincidence. I can see both Audrey and Marilyn joyfully looking forward to heaven.”

Do you remember that Joy is Audrey DeShetler’s middle name? It’s no coincidence.

When a few of us shared lunch with Jennifer last week, she said, “It’s really amazing. Both Ben and I can actually feel Audrey’s joy from heaven. We imagine her running around following Jesus like a puppy dog, filled with incredible joy.” Sensing Audrey’s palpable joy softens the deep pain of missing her on earth.

Oh joy! Be glad—sky! Take joy—earth! Burst into song—mountains! For the Eternal, moved to compassion, has comforted and consoled His people (Isaiah 49:13, VOICE).

Audrey and Marilyn singing joyfully with Jesus, what a fun thought. In their honor, let’s join the joy of singing along with country crooner Alan Jackson.
