Good morning…

“Life is all about practicing for heaven,” says Richard Rohr (Falling Upward, 101). “We practice by choosing union freely – ahead of time – and now. Heaven is the state of union both here and later. As now, so will it be then.” In my mind God translates this quote into a three word directive: “BE ONE NOW.”

When I feel overwhelmed. “BE ONE NOW.”

When my sleep is disturbed. “BE ONE NOW.”

When I worry “What’s next?” “BE ONE NOW.”

When I am weak, God stays strong. “BE ONE NOW.”

When critical voices rise up from within. “BE ONE NOW.”

When I have a hard thing to do or to say. “BE ONE NOW.”

When I feel betrayed by a trusted old friend. “BE ONE NOW.”

When the anguish of others saturates my heart. “BE ONE NOW.”

When I admire autumn leaves letting go effortlessly. “BE ONE NOW.”

When the gravity of grief pulls me down, down, down. “BE ONE NOW.”

When my mind scurries between “yes,” “no,” or “maybe.” “BE ONE NOW.”

When I think, “How in the heck will I get everything done?” “BE ONE NOW.”

Any time of day or night, whatever challenge confronts us, you and I can choose oneness, union with our good, great, gracious God. I am the Vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in Me and I in him bears much fruit, for [otherwise] apart from Me [that is, cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing (John 15:5, AMP).

Do you hear God’s fresh revelation? “Heavenly union starts right now and lives on forever.” “BE ONE NOW.”
