disco ball

Good morning…

“Thought of you and the Holiday Gathering you are doing,” she texted along with the clever image above.

She made me smile.

She made me chuckle.

She made me feel loved and supported.

“A disco ball is hundreds of pieces of broken glass put together to make a magical ball of light,” reads the Judi Holler quote. “You aren’t broken; you are a disco ball.” Next my curiosity thought, “How does a disco ball actually work?” Here is what I learned.

A disco ball has several small pieces of mirrored glass mounted on the surface of the ball, and when light shines on it, the mirrors reflect the light in many different directions. Light reflecting off of a disco ball creates a dazzling effect on all the people gathered.

Lord, as I open my mouth to speak, please allow my broken pieces to reflect your healing light.

Watch out for people who try to dazzle you with big words and intellectual double-talk. They want to drag you off into endless arguments that never amount to anything. They spread their ideas through the empty traditions of human beings and the empty superstitions of spirit beings. But that’s not the way of Christ. You don’t need a telescope, a microscope, or a horoscope to realize the fullness of Christ, and the emptiness of the universe without him. When you come to him, that fullness comes together for you, too. His power extends over everything (Colossians 2:8-10, MSG).

As we come to you today, allow your powerful fullness to come together for us. Let us let you dazzle. Amen.
