Good morning…
From Jacksonville, Florida to Atlanta, Georgia, one subscriber sent an interesting quote to comfort our community: “I remember reading this quote in Tullian Tchvidjian’s (Billy Graham’s grandson) book Glorious Ruin – ‘The good news of suffering is that it brings us to the end of ourselves…brings us to the place of honesty, which is the place of desperation, which is the place of faith, which is the place of freedom… God sent His son not only to suffer in our place but also to suffer with us. While he may not deliver us from pain and loss, He’ll walk with us through it. (Heb. 4:15-16)
The good news of the gospel is… that God is hanging on to you. He’s not waiting for you to save yourself or mature into someone who no longer needs Him. He will not let you go, come what may. Jesus will never, ever leave you or forsake you. Nothing you can do or not do can separate you from the love of Christ… As Robert Farrah Capon said so beautifully: “For Jesus came to raise the dead. He did not come to reward the rewardable, improve the improvable, correct the correctable; he came simply to be the resurrection and the life…” Suffering is not final. Death is not the end. It wasn’t for Jesus, and it’s not for you.'”
She concluded: “And I love this: ‘When it comes to God’s will, the sooner you can get out of the conjecture business, the better. If you don’t go to your grave confused, you don’t go to your grave trusting.’ Sending hugs & prayers for you and continuing to lift your community in prayer.”
God of all healing counsel! He comes alongside us when we go through hard times, and before you know it, he brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that person just as God was there for us (2 Corinthians 1:4, MSG).
