Good morning…
I love meeting new people in my weekly classes each semester. One special woman I met last fall sent me a beautiful blessing to begin this new year.
“May you be delightfully cracked open in 2017 😉
When you start to crack open, don’t waste a moment gathering your old self up into something like you knew before. Let your new self splash like sunlight into every dark place & laugh & cry & make sounds like you never made & thank all that is holy for the gift, because now you have no choice but to let all your love spill out into the world.” (2016 brian andreas, Storypeople)
These quirky words fell gently in line with the final statement our minister made at church on New Year’s Day. “Don’t trust in the new year, trust in the One who is making everything new.”
I heard a loud voice shout from the throne: “God’s home is now with his people. He will live with them, and they will be his own. Yes, God will make his home among his people. He will wipe all tears from their eyes, and there will be no more death, suffering, crying, or pain. These things of the past are gone forever.”
Then the one sitting on the throne said: “I am making everything new. Write down what I have said. My words are true and can be trusted. Everything is finished! I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will freely give water from the life-giving fountain to everyone who is thirsty” (Revelation 21:3-6, CEV).
Delightfully cracked open, we thirst for the One who is making everything new.
