Good Morning…

“I do LOVE this soaking analogy!” a dear friend wrote after yesterday’s post, “Soaking. Still.”

She continued: “I wanted to share this God moment with you, urging me to soak:) Before I read your devotional, I read my Jesus Calling devotional, which led me to this verse:

The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones; you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail. —Isaiah 58:11 NKJV

A well-watered garden sounds so much like a well soaked sponge, the opposite of a dry cracked sponge, but continually refreshed and blooming.

Don’t we all long for this?!”

God-guided continually. Satisfied soul-in-drought. Strengthened bones. Watered garden. Unfailing spring. Refreshed and blooming.

Instead of dry-cracked, I do think we all long for well-soaked.

O God, You are my God; with deepest longing I will seek You; my soul [my life, my very self] thirsts for You, my flesh longs and sighs for You, in a dry and weary land where there is no water (Psalm 63:1, AMP).

…Sue…
