Good morning…
This photo of my friend’s grandson was taken by an Associated Press photographer at the Carter Center on Sunday. It pairs so perfectly with words written by Edmond MacDonald.
The great events of this world
are not battles or elections, earthquakes or thunderbolts.
The great events are children,
for each child comes with the message
that God is not yet discouraged with humanity,
but is still expecting goodwill
to become incarnate in each human life.
A day will come when the wolf will live peacefully beside the wobbly-kneed lamb, and the leopard will lie down with the young goat; The calf and yearling, newborn and slow, will rest secure with the lion; and a little child will tend them all (Isaiah 11:6, VOICE).
LORD, in Your time, in Your way, may Your peaceful vision come true.
As you study this tender photo, what specific hopes form in your heart?
