Good morning…

After writing yesterday’s post, A Prayer For Elizabeth, I went back to bed for my second sleep, setting my alarm to wake for an 8:00 am walk-and-talk. Upon waking, I checked my phone immediately and savored these loving words written by my special friend Dr. Cathy Snapp, co-author of my favorite book The Hidden Life Awakened. Cathy wrote:

Dearest Sue,

I sit holding this dear friend Elizabeth in my heart and prayers this morning. As Jesus prepares her for her great arrival home, may those left behind taste of a peace that passes all comprehension or understanding. May the Holy Spirit of the living God fill Graham and Joan and those precious children with a sense of warmth, love, light and heavenly belonging. May there be an awareness of Elizabeth’s “well done, my beloved, faithful servant”. Sue, I’m so thankful for your morning notes that I get to read most mornings. I feel the oneness of the body of Christ and our dear Bettina (her nickname for our spiritual mentor Betty Skinner) as I have the gift and privilege of holding souls in my prayerful heart that I have never met but know in my heart. I love you dear friend and I’m holding all these dear ones in my heart this morning.

“Thank you, Cathy,” I responded. “Your prayer is so real, genuine, perfect for this moment. Thank you for allowing the deep love of God to pour through you so freely.”

I have never met Elizabeth either, yet I loved joining Cathy in her very specific prayers. May Jesus prepare Elizabeth for her great arrival home. May those left behind taste of a peace that passes all comprehension or understanding. May the Holy Spirit of the living God fill loved ones with a sense of warmth, love, light and heavenly belonging. May there be an awareness of Elizabeth’s “well done, my beloved, faithful servant.” May we feel the oneness of the body of Christ. May we hold all these dear ones in our prayerful hearts.

After noon, I texted again. “Hello Cathy. I feel nudged to ask if I could use your beautiful prayer in tomorrow’s post, with or without your name attached.”

“Oh Sue, of course you can,” she replied. “I’ve been praying for Elizabeth, Graham and dear Joan all day. God has them so, so close to my heart. I’m so thankful for your precious, tender vision to bring this online community of prayer together. Sending love and peace to this beloved family and all their friends. Elizabeth is walking into a light so pure, so bright…she’s coming home…thank you, deeply, for allowing our hearts to connect to the Divine heart through Elizabeth’s journey. With such love.”

In the evening, we heard from Joan, Elizabeth’s mother-in-law, a loyal friend from our Friday morning group. Joan wrote to us:

Dear soul friends,

Thank you for your prayers about Graham and Elizabeth’s 14th anniversary. He had some time to remind her of the happy times at their wedding and on their honeymoon. She went to heaven today about 12:15 pm. Her service of celebration of life will be on Monday at 11:00 am at Holy Trinity in Raleigh.

Love, Joan

We shared prayers for Elizabeth to make it through one special anniversary. Thankfully, she did. Together, this young couple remembered happy times. The next day, Elizabeth went to heaven. Now and forever, we will celebrate her life.

Remember the words of Jesus? My Father’s home is designed to accommodate all of you. If there were not room for everyone, I would have told you that. I am going to make arrangements for your arrival. I will be there to greet you personally and welcome you home, where we will be together (John 14:2-3, VOICE).

We will be together forever.

…Sue…
