Good morning…
One of my dearest spiritual friends has a birthday today. After our walk and talk yesterday, I gave her an early birthday gift. This whimsical mug I found at Goodwill is painted with the pattern of her grandmother’s pottery, a pattern she has adored since childhood. It makes my heart so happy to know my soul sister will be sipping from this symbol of eternal love as she begins this day of celebration.
Before we walked, she shared with me a song she has recently fallen in love with. As we stood together, listening, swaying, singing along, I realized that this is the message I yearn to give the family and friends who are experiencing a celebration of life service today for one of the young dads who died last week in a tragic helicopter crash.
Please listen to this song as a powerful prayer for those celebrating all the facets of life on this twenty-fifth day of September, 2021. Birthdays. Burials. And every painful joy in between.
Let Your hand be poised to help me
because I have chosen to live by Your precepts.
I long for Your salvation, O Eternal One.
Meanwhile, Your teaching brings me great joy.
Let my soul live on so that I may praise You,
and let Your precepts guide me (Psalm 119:173-175, VOICE).
