Good morning…

In class, I made an observation, “God gave us two ears and one mouth. I think He designed us to listen twice as much as we talk.”

One woman leaving our study said, “I never thought about that, but it is so true. I cannot envision how two mouths would work on my face!”

When I reflected on her comment, an extra insight dawned. God also gave us two eyes. Might we be designed to look attentively twice as much as we speak?

Two ears, two ears, one mouth. God created five holes in our head. Could it be we are to take in and treasure the world around us four times more than we open our mouth? Natural beauty and soothing music. Good books and loving people. Bird calls and babbling brooks. We are wise to look and listen, more and more, more and more.

Wise men store up and treasure knowledge [in mind and heart],
But with the mouth of the foolish, ruin is at hand (Proverbs 10:14, AMP).
