Good morning…

The following movie clip from the 2013 film About Time depicts the difference between plodding through a mundane day and developing the art of noticing joy along life’s ordinary way. We can look down, hold back, feed tension, be annoyed, and this next twelve hours can add up to a very “tough day.”

Yet, there is another choice.

We can choose to live the same twelve hours noticing life’s subtle sweetness. Smiling, hugging, laughing, looking up, savoring surroundings, tuning into life’s music, we can each experience today as a very “good day, actually.”

Watch for yourself the big secret, the real mothership, the special formula for grateful living. The poor man and the oppressor have this in common: The Lord gives light to the eyes of both (Proverbs 29:13, AMP). Our eyes are gifted with the light of our Lord.

Today, will we flip “on” God’s light in our eyes?
