Good morning…
Watching a news story, I pulled out a blank piece of paper and jotted down four strong words.
“Hate.”
“Hurt.”
“Hope.”
“Heal.”
Coupled together, they form opposite ends of the continuum upon which our daily life teeters.
Hate/Hurt……………………..Hope/Heal
It is important to ask ourselves, moment by moment, “Which magnetic pull is grabbing my full attention?”
God’s the one who rebuilds…who regathers… He heals the heartbroken and bandages their wounds. He counts the stars and assigns each a name. Our Lord is great, with limitless strength; we’ll never comprehend what he knows and does. God puts the fallen on their feet again… (Psalm 147:3-6a, MSG).
The magnetic pull of God is the root beneath all hope and healing. When we experience the hurt of hate, will we turn toward the great God of limitless strength? God rebuilds and regathers. God heals and bandages. God counts, assigns, and names. Though we do not comprehend our Lord’s mysterious ways, will we allow God to captivate our full attention? Right before our patient eyes, as we wait and watch, God pulls us-fallen on our feet again, from hate and hurt to hope and healing. As invisible magnetism draws us in, we become eyewitnesses to the lifesaving work of our compassionate Re-creator. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds [healing their pain and comforting their sorrow] (Psalm 147:3, AMP).
