Good morning…
Our prayers for healing from cancer for our friend Julie were not answered as we had hoped, but Julie’s mom still believes in God’s healing power, just like I do. Taught to trust through painful life experience after painful life experience, she still believes boldly in God’s higher plan.
“I only know that throughout my life, even as a child, I have felt God’s presence,” she wrote me and gave me permission to share. “I have felt God’s presence. Always with me. And my Julie did too. We are blessed. We are blessed to have had her for 41 years. God loves us deeply. I know this with all my heart. I do not feel abandoned by Him. Nor would Julie. Prayer works miracles. Prayer heals. Prayer saves. Prayer is our lifeline to God and to the power of the Trinity. God has a plan. Our task is to trust. We will understand everything soon enough.”
From the gracious mouth a grieving mom God receives powerful praise. Her voice joins the chorus of Psalm 89:1-2 (MSG).
Your love, God, is my song, and I’ll sing it!
I’m forever telling everyone how faithful you are.
I’ll never quit telling the story of your love–
how you built the cosmos
and guaranteed everything in it.
Your love has always been our lives’ foundation,
your fidelity has been the roof over our world.
God’s healing power and palpable presence is most evident to me in people like Julie and her faith-filled mom.
