Good morning…

On this day when three of our four kids will vote early with my husband and me over lunchtime, I prepare my heart by savoring this powerful music video. With my whole self kneeling before the God of creation, I will cast my personal ballot of votes. Collectively, I trust the God of salvation to guide us toward compassion, collaboration, and creative community.

“God longs for us to gaze at him in trust with a steady, fixed look and only glance briefly at our problems,” writes Kay Warren on page 124 of Choose Joy.

Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak (Isaiah 40:28-29, NIV).

If the stars and the mountains, the oceans and the winds, the rocks and everything you have created sing your praise, so will I. Enveloped in the symphony of your Spirit, before, during, and after this election, might we continue to gaze at God in surrendered trust?
