Good morning…
The phone rang around 5:20 am, “Mom, I think you should go back to sharing your complete blog in your morning email rather than forcing us to click ‘Read more’ to receive the entire message.” Our oldest son called to encourage me from Australia, where he is spending his year ministering to college students. With a 14 hour time difference, morning here meant nighttime there, the Holy Spirit bridged the gap with a life-giving conversation.
I hung up the phone and asked the LORD, “What is most essential to You as we transplant these living, daily words into the pot of a larger website?” I spent the day pondering this question. By mid afternoon, I was drawn to the wisdom of Acts 1:7-8 (CEV).
Jesus said to them, “You don’t need to know the time of those events that only the Father controls. But the Holy Spirit will come upon you and give you power. Then you will tell everyone about me in Jerusalem, in all Judea, in Samaria, and everywhere in the world.”
How do these verses apply to our written word ministry?
- God conceived this new website and He is in control of the timing and events surrounding its impact.
- The Holy Spirit will come upon me and give me a powerful message to share, morning by morning, day after day.
- Through our daily blog I will tell everyone around me, our growing number of subscribers, about enjoying our everyday lives empowered by the LORD.
- We will each live the Word of God in our own Jerusalem, sharing truth with loved ones in their Judea and their Samaria, until God’s living Word spreads everywhere in the world.
To accomplish God’s goal, I sense the Holy Spirit connecting old with new. My old pattern of emailing you wisdom directly, simple to read and easy to forward, now connects with a new, sturdier website, a well established root system to nurture God’s future growth.
There are events in our lives that only the Father controls and God knows the perfect time to spread His contagious power through us into the world.
