Good morning…
I absolutely love that the brightness of tonight’s full moon sky coincides with the seal-off mystery of the dank, dark tomb. For Jesus’ dead body wrapped in burial attire, for you and for me wrapped in our own dark cocoons, God lights our hope. We each whisper in awed wonder: “…even in darkness I cannot hide from you. To you the night shines as bright as day. Darkness and light are the same to you” (Psalm 139:12, NLT).
LORD, You see us trapped in the darkness of our own private tomb. Our tomb of divorce or depression. Our tomb of disease or dissatisfaction. Our tomb of despair or disconnection. If you are walking in darkness, without a ray of light, trust in the Lord and rely on your God (Isaiah 50:10b, NLT). God shines full moon light in our closed off places, illuminating truth, sparking transformation. God experiences the night shining as bright as day; seen through His eyes, darkness and light are the very same thing.
Tomorrow morning, we will celebrate Jesus rising to say: “I have come as Light into the world, so that everyone who believes and trusts in Me [as Savior—all those who anchor their hope in Me and rely on the truth of My message] will not continue to live in darkness” (John 12:46, AMP). Personally resurrecting from the death’s dark tomb, Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life” (John 8:12, NLT).
I am grateful for Jesus igniting full moon light as he offers us complete forgiveness for every single sin.
