Happy Easter…
My friend experienced Julie’s presence the day of her passing. I asked her to write the memory for me so I could share it with you. Here is her story.
“I went outside to tell my husband what I’d just learned about Julie dying… I was crying and trying to talk… Right as I spoke our fully bloomed and beautiful cherry trees started to gently move and I felt this chill of the spring wind on my face. We both stopped and watched as the trees let thousands of the fragile white petals go… the trees seemed to release them and then the soft wind lifted the petals in what looked like a dance – spinning ever so gracefully but purposefully. They didn’t touch the ground – I was unaware of how long they were suspended in this holy movement but it took my breath away and I felt God’s presence like I’d not it felt before. In that holy moment I was overcome with peace. My husband and I both were speechless for minutes after… We just stood there in awe. Awe of nature for sure but mostly in awe of He who created it all… He who Julie adored, He who is the comforter and the healer of broken hearts and broken bodies. It was a beautiful and deep moment that I was blessed to share with my sweet husband because he was unsure how to comfort me. I get chills remembering and I don’t ever want to forget it. From now on I pray I’ll always let the blowing of the petals as they come off the cherry trees remind me of Julie…”
The cool, spring Wind that danced with these petals was the same cool, spring Wind that twinkled my wind chimes at the very same moment from miles away. The Wind whispered to me Julie’s message, recorded in my 4.3.17 post: “Heaven and earth are intertwined. Do not fear, only trust. I am with you forever, as close as God. Come on dear ones, let’s keep alive our constant conversation.”
Our desire to never forget reminds me of a story found in Genesis 28:16-18 (AMP). Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and he said, “Without any doubt the Lord is in this place, and I did not realize it.” So he was afraid and said, “How fearful and awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gateway to heaven.” So Jacob got up early in the morning, and took the stone he had put under his head and he set it up as a pillar [that is, a monument to the vision in his dream], and he poured [olive] oil on the top of it [to consecrate it].
Let us all find ways to set up monuments for our Invisible-made-visible experiences, consecrating sweet memories and standing in awe before the gateway of heaven.
