Good morning…
I love the promise given in the Message translation of Luke 1:79.
Through the heartfelt mercies of our God,
God’s Sunrise will break in upon us,
Shining on those in the darkness,
those sitting in the shadow of death,
Then showing us the way, one foot at a time,
down the path of peace.
As a new morning shifts from pitch black to fresh light, I feel grateful for God’s heartfelt mercies. God’s forgiveness. God’s indulgence. God’s clemency. God’s lenience. God’s tenderness. God’s benevolence. God’s gentleness. The LORD stirs awake the sun to shine in our darkness, showing us the way, one foot at a time. Dawn after dawn, our path of peace is illuminated.
The Lord can always be trusted
to show mercy each morning.
Deep in my heart I say,
“The Lord is all I need;
I can depend on him!” (Lamentations 3:23-24, CEV).
