Good morning…
I wake with a weird sentence saturating my brain. “Our tub is the epicenter of our healing.” I told you. Weird.
I am compelled to follow this ‘epicenter’ inkling. I discover, in greek, the root word means ‘on the center.’ The true center of movement, from which shock waves radiate. The command post or control center. The hub or heart, the hotbed or headquarters.
Why would our bath tub be the ‘epicenter’ of our healing?
Think about it, in the tub, we are cleansed from the day’s accumulated dirt, visible and invisible. In the tub, our whole body is warmed, our slowed breath becomes prayer, and we melt into the heart of our true self. In the tub, we sink down into our original state, ‘naked and unashamed’ (Genesis 2:25).
In our vulnerability, God’s promise washes over us. Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and because I love you… Do not be afraid, for I am with you… (Isaiah 43:4a-5a, NIV). We soak in our LORD’s love, our true center, as shock waves of healing radiate out.
If with heart and soul you’re doing good, do you think you can be stopped? Even if you suffer for it, you’re still better off. Don’t give the opposition a second thought. Through thick and thin, keep your hearts at attention, in adoration before Christ, your Master. Be ready to speak up and tell anyone who asks why you’re living the way you are, and always with the utmost courtesy. Keep a clear conscience before God so that when people throw mud at you, none of it will stick. They’ll end up realizing that they’re the ones who need a bath (1 Peter 3:13-16, MSG),
