Good Morning…

“Sue, thank you for bringing Hospice to the forefront of prayer,” one subscriber wrote. “My dad founded Hospice Atlanta Center and was the first medical director there. For so many, ‘hospice’ has such a negative connotation. Yet, it is a ministry of sorts. My dad used to always call it a way to provide people with their ‘soft landing.’ Their way to die with respect in comfort surrounded by those they love.

As we have worked with volunteers there for some 20+ years, I do often think about the unique person who is called by God to work there. A special person, indeed…one who can listen, provide comfort and love to the patient and the families. Those individuals bridge our earthly world and God’s life eternal every day and make it an easier transition for so many. Your message reminds me to always include the caregivers in our prayers, too.”

We are all called by God to help bridge our earthly world and God’s life eternal, every day, in our own unique way. What a legacy of tangible love this dad passes on to his daughter, a daughter who is now carrying on the ministry of ‘soft landing.’

Let’s join her in the prayer for the caregivers of all of our loved ones transitioning from earth to heaven. May God, who puts all things together, makes all things whole, Who made a lasting mark through the sacrifice of Jesus, the sacrifice of blood that sealed the eternal covenant, Who led Jesus, our Great Shepherd, up and alive from the dead, now put you together, provide you with everything you need… (Hebrews 13:19-20, MSG).

…Sue…
