“Part of hearing God is listening,” she said, filled with Holy Spirit wisdom. Those in our monthly spiritual growth group automatically responded, “That’s profound. Can you say the sentence again?”
“Part of hearing God is listening,” she repeated herself. I typed the six words into my phone, knowing I might share them with you.
“Words can get in the way,” she continued. “I need to quiet my inner voices to hear the joy.”

Then I had lunch with a woman who, after months of messy transition, finally moved to Atlanta this week. “I have a hard time hearing God,” she admitted.
I told her what I had just learned. “Part of hearing God is listening.”
I asked, “What helps you to listen best?”
