Good morning…
The last time I wrote to you, I had been Out Of Cell Service for three full days, savoring the rustic beauty of Siempre Verde, Ecuador, a magical place where The Lovett School maintains an amazingly lush property on a remote mountain in the cloud forest. Traveling to the second half of our trip with a group of sixteen from the Atlanta area, I thought I would be back in contact with you daily when we boarded our private boat to explore the Galapagos Islands. I thought I would be back in contact with you, but I hit some computer problems, I battled a really slow internet connection, and I faced delightfully full days, days filled with new sights, new experiences, with new friends in a fascinating new place.
At some point in our second Galapagos day, I needed to resign myself to the fact that I could not be fully present to the varied daily activities and write a blog post for you each night. There was not enough time in each twenty four hours. Truth dawned on me: “To really live these one-of-a-kind opportunities, I need to wait to write about them.”
I chose to let my old computer rest.
Being out of touch with you for nearly ten days was unheard of for me. I felt inspired to begin writing a daily blog with God almost ten years ago as part of a class I was teaching at Northside Church (where I serve as the Director of Women’s Ministry). That was September of 2015. Wow, time flies when we’re enjoying life with God. For almost ten years, I have written most every day to you, you, a growing number of subscribers from across the globe.
I have missed writing to you, and, like these sweet sea lions, it feels so natural to be back in touch this morning.

For several days in a row, we have been out of tangible touch, yet I have kept you in my heart and my mind.
Whenever you cross my mind, I thank my God for you and for the gift of knowing you (Philippians 1:3, VOICE).
