Good morning…
As we walked the streets of Asheville, North Carolina last weekend, we happened upon three words etched in sidewalk chalk. I just had to snap a photo.
Change is good.
Really?
I’m not sure what I think about this statement. Part of me loves it. We are always changing. Always growing. Always evolving. Part of me hates the statement. Change is disruptive. Change is frightening. Change is unsettling. Sometimes it takes a painful experience to make us change our ways (Proverbs 20:30, GNT).
Seasons change. Situations change. Feelings, thoughts and perspectives change. Now all of us, with our faces unveiled, reflect the glory of the Lord as if we are mirrors; and so we are being transformed, metamorphosed, into His same image from one radiance of glory to another, just as the Spirit of the Lord accomplishes it (2 Corinthians 3:18, VOICE).
Change is unavoidable in this unpredictable life.
Stay close because I am going to tell you a mystery—something you may have trouble understanding: we will not all fall asleep in death, but we will all be transformed. It will all happen so fast, in a blink, a mere flutter of the eye. The last trumpet will call, and the dead will be raised from their graves with a body that does not, cannot decay. All of us will be changed! We’ll step out of our mortal clothes and slide into immortal bodies, replacing everything that is subject to death with eternal life (1 Corinthians 15:51-53, VOICE).
Whether change occurs bit by bit or in a blink, ultimately, change seems abundantly good.
