Good morning…
Two days ago, the YouTube video I posted seems to have reach deep and wide. “I watched it several times and it makes me feel so peaceful,” one of you told me. “I love that video about God whispering to us all the time. Thank you for sending it,” another flagged me down to say. Another person commented, “That video made me alert, looking out for God’s whispers all day long. And I noticed Him in the little things like never before.”
One of you even heard a sound in the attic and, fearing it was a pesky squirrel, you went up to discover a bird tapping on your attic window. Then you returned to your sacred space, opened my blog, watched the video, and was reminded that God sometimes speaks through a meadowlark. You chuckled to yourself, “This is so God,” as your quiet time was blessed with the bird’s tap-tap-tapping.
I love hearing all of your stories about God whispering into our ordinary lives, but one email received from a subscriber made my heart sing.
“I watched the video this morning with my 5 year old son,” she wrote. “He asked, ‘Is this God talking to us?’ I replied, ‘What do you think?’ He said, ‘Yes.’ I think so too, so thank you for sharing and for the reminder that God is always with us. Our daily task is to take time to notice and listen, watch and share.”
Then he (Jesus) was filled with the joy of the Holy Spirit and said, “I praise you, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for hiding these things from the intellectuals and worldly wise and for revealing them to those who are as trusting as little children. Yes, thank you, Father, for that is the way you wanted it (Luke 10:21, TLB).
