Good morning…
Julie Harlan smiles in heaven as she prepares for today’s special day. Today, her oldest son Charlie will graduate from The Lovett School with a stadium full of his classmates. When Charlie was ten, his amazing mom died of stomach cancer at age forty-one. It’s an honor to remember her bright shining spirit and to revisit Julie’s lovely obituary.
Julie’s legacy continues to influence so many of our lives. Her firm faith. Her family and friends. Her fondness for empowering underserved inner city kids. Her founding the thriving non-profit Julie’s Dream. One focus which took a lot of her time and attention was heading up Lovett Mom’s In Prayer, a group of mothers which meets weekly to pray over the needs of the Lovett community. During our final gathering of the year, we thanked senior mom Katie Mauldin for her years of service. With Katie stepped into a leadership role in Julie’s absence in 2017, we shared stories about Julie and the impact she continues to make on our daily lives.

This morning’s senior communion service and tonight’s graduation will be made extra special with Julie smiling down from her front row seat in heaven.
I will sing of Your unfailing love, Eternal One, forever.
I will speak of Your faithfulness to all generations.
I will tell how Your unfailing love will always stand strong;
and how Your faithfulness is established in the heavens above (Psalm 89:1-2, VOICE).
