unfold

Good morning…

We were trying to schedule a walk-and-talk to and from the horse farm. “Tomorrow might work as long as the weather holds…” she texted. “Want to play it by ear and text each other in the morning?”

“Yes, that’s perfect,” I responded. “Have an awesome day. Just let it gently unfold.”

I looked up and snapped a photo of an antique pink rose unfolding on our coffee table. With my ‘soul friend’, I shared God’s visual reminder, “Just let this day gently unfold.”

So we’re not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace. These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us. There’s far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can’t see now will last forever (2 Corinthians 4:16-18, MSG).

I love this inviting thought: not a day goes by without God’s unfolding grace. Then the one who sits on the throne said, “And now I make all things new!” He also said to me, “Write this, because these words are true and can be trusted” (Revelation 21:5, GNT).
