Good morning…
“This will be one of the most important days of your life,” she said to her 10 year old son when he returned home from school on September 11th, 2001. Later that night she thought to herself, that was a stupid, terrible thing to say.
The morning of September 12th, she apologized to her young son. “I was wrong. What I told you yesterday is totally wrong.”
She went on to say something like this: “On the most important days of your life you will be amazed by beautiful things. You will be with people you love, smiling and laughing. Those are the most important days of our lives, when together we feel the hope, the love, the joy of our God.”
I have been thinking about her story since she shared it. My mind has wandered to ponder the most important days of a life well lived. Births. Firsts. Losses. Lasts. Vacations. Graduations. Weddings. Weepings. Homecomings. Holidays. Tender moments. Timeless bonds. Giving and receiving at the exact same time.
What do these experiences all have in common?
Beautiful things.
Ordinary people sharing smiles, laughter, mutual love.
The hope, the love, the joy of God enveloped in our soft skinned bodies as together we celebrate eternal life.
Now my beloved ones, I have saved these most important truths for last: Be supernaturally infused with strength through your life-union with the Lord Jesus. Stand victorious with the force of his explosive power flowing in and through you (Ephesians 6:10, TPT).
