Good morning…

I am often asked to speak for churches, for women’s groups, for private Bible studies nestled in a home. I actually love the privilege of gathering with people I have never met and talking about the movement of God in our lives. The women who come to my living room for class weekly know that the LORD has developed in me an intuitive style of teaching flowing deep from my core, interactive and in-the-moment, personal and passionate. Each time I teach, we turn our attention to the Holy Spirit, trusting the LORD to bring forth the wisdom each person needs to experience.

So, I have been asked to teach at Peachtree United Methodist Church this morning at 10:00 am in the Faith Builders class. Earlier in the week, the contact person emailed me asking, “Sue, would you like me to send a preview of your discussion on Sunday to the class?” I prayed quietly, intermittently for 24 hours before these words spilled onto my return email.

“Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 lays out the common tensions we live with daily. To everything there is a season, but certainly we like some seasons more than others. There is a time for every purpose under heaven, but some of God’s purposes are hard to understand. Birth and death. Plant and pluck up. Kill and heal. Break down and build up. Weep and laugh. Mourn and dance. Cast away and gather. Embrace and refrain from embracing. Gain and lose. Keep and throw away. Tear and sew. Keep silent and speak. Love and hate. War and peace. Where are you today on the continuum of these unavoidable opposites? Come to Sunday school this week to discuss finding balance amid life’s challenging extremes.”

I trust that the Holy Spirit has some life changing wisdom up Her sleeve.

“…don’t worry about…what to say, for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what needs to be said,”
Luke 12:11b-12 (NLT),
