light

Good morning…

Yesterday upon waking, I stepped out of our bedroom door to find God’s creative light decorating our wall. To a few who are processing loss, I sent this photo with a text: “I wake this morning with God’s light on our wall. Thinking of each of you and your family on this first anniversary of Scott’s passing, as we prepare for Mary Lynne’s service tomorrow. May resurrection power somehow break into our ordinary lives. Sending my prayers laced with God’s love.”

Yesterday’s tomorrow is today, and at 1:00 pm we will celebrate the vibrant life of Mary Lynne Hamilton. Wife of Reid. Daughter-in-law of Susan and John. Sister-in-law of Becca and John, Virginia and John. The Hamiltons are a well-loved family with deep roots in our community. Mary Lynne’s parents, brother, extended family and many, many friends will gather to mourn the loss of her uplifting presence on earth. Next month, Mary Lynne would have turned 32 years old. She journeyed with brain cancer for years, but unexpectedly died during a non-life threatening laparoscopic procedure on a random Thursday. Now she rests with God, healed whole in heaven.

Dear God, we ask that Your healing light finds its way onto the walls of every heart and every home. Might resurrection power somehow break into our ordinary lives, and may all of our prayers be laced with Your love.

God’s amazing grace be with you! God’s robust peace! (1 Thessalonians 1:1b, MSG).
